1Summary
- Your progress — unlocked levels, stars, best scores and settings — is saved only on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no server we run.
- We run no analytics, no crash reporting and no telemetry of our own.
- The game is free and funded by Google AdMob. The advertising data the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends to Google and its partners is described in section 4.
- Every level plays offline. The app only reaches the network for the two requests in section 3.
2Data stored locally on your device
| Data | Why it is stored | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress: unlocked levels, stars per level, best score per level | So the level map and star totals survive closing the game | App-private storage (save file) |
| Career weapon level | So a weapon upgrade you earned carries into the next level | App-private storage (save file) |
| Settings: sound and music on/off | To restore your audio preference | App-private storage (save file) |
| Synthesized sound effects and the music loop | Written once on first launch so the game is audible without a download | App-private storage |
The save file holds numbers and switches only. It contains no name, email, phone number, contact list, location or photo.
Android’s system backup is enabled for this app, so the save file may be included in the device backup that your own Google Account keeps. Turn off Settings › System › Backup on your phone if you do not want that.
3Network requests the game makes
| Request | When | What the other side sees |
|---|---|---|
A small version page on raw.githubusercontent.com |
Once, on the start-up screen, to check whether a newer version exists | Your IP address and the standard browser user-agent, as with any web request. No gameplay data, identifier or account is sent. |
| The Google Play store page for this app | Only if you tap UPDATE NOW on that screen | Nothing from the app; the Play Store opens in your browser. |
If the version page cannot be reached — no connection, or the request is blocked — the game simply starts and plays. Levels themselves never need a connection.
4Advertising (Google AdMob)
Chicken War shows ads served by Google AdMob: a banner and a native ad on the menu screens, an interstitial between levels, an app-open ad when you return to the game, and rewarded ads you can choose to watch for a second chance or a bonus. Ads are never required to finish a level.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK running inside the app may collect or receive:
- The Android Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier) — used for ad frequency capping, fraud prevention and, where consented, personalization.
- The IP address of your device. It is a necessary part of every ad request sent over the internet. The app holds no location permission and never reads or sends your location.
- Information about the ads shown and whether you interacted with them (impressions, clicks, completions of a rewarded ad).
- Device characteristics: model, OS version, screen size, carrier, browser type.
- App package name, run frequency and app-interaction data, used for ad targeting, frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement.
- Crash and performance information about the ad code itself, which the SDK reports to Google so broken ad units can be fixed.
This data is processed by Google and third-party ad partners under Google’s own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Consent for European Economic Area and UK users is requested through Google’s User Messaging Platform when the app first starts. Personalized ads are only requested once that consent has been granted. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalized.
You can control advertising personalization at any time:
- Android Settings › Google › Ads › Reset advertising ID gives you a new one.
- Android Settings › Google › Ads › Delete advertising ID removes it entirely (the ID then reads as zeros and only non-personalized ads are served).
- Google Ads Settings: myadcenter.google.com
5Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed | When it is used |
|---|---|---|
Internet (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) |
The start-up version check in section 3 and the ad requests in section 4 | Install-time; never prompts |
Vibrate (VIBRATE) |
Short haptic feedback when you take damage or clear a wave | Install-time; never prompts |
| Advertising ID (granted through Google Play services) | Serving and measuring ads, as described in section 4 | Only while ads are shown |
The app does not request contacts, location, camera, microphone, call log, phone state, SMS, storage access to other apps’ data, or a list of installed apps.
6Children
Chicken War is a cartoon shooter rated for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), it collects no personal information from anyone, and ad requests from this app are tagged as not child-directed, so they are served to a general-audience inventory.
7Data deletion
Because the game stores nothing on a server we control, deleting your data is a local action:
- Clear app data: Settings › Apps › Chicken War › Storage › Clear data. This erases progress, scores and settings.
- Uninstall the app, which removes everything it holds.
- If device backup is on, delete the backed-up copy from takeout.google.com/settings/takeout.
For data held by Google on the advertising side, use myaccount.google.com/privacy and the ad opt-out links in section 4.
8Policy changes
If this policy changes materially, the Last updated date above changes and the new version is published with the next app release.
